Las Bocas Beach Vacation Home

                                                                                                                           Las Bocas, Mexico

Photos & Property Details

La Casa de Las Bocas

Our house is made of cinder block and concrete which is very common in Mexico.
This includes the floors, walls and ceiling.  It has been recently painted inside and is pleasant.  The matresses are all brand new as is the bedding and towels.
You have the option of having us provide all of your bedding and towels
at a little more cost, or you are welcome to bring your own.

We are on the local water system in Las Bocas and it is in general very reliable. It is not suitable for drinking or cooking but is fine for washing, showers & toilets. Our water comes into to an underground cistern next to our house. The water must be pumped from the cistern to our water tank on the roof using a sump pump.

When you need more water in the roof top tank, you will need to plug the sump pump in and when the roof tank begins to overflow, the sump pump must be unplugged.
The water flows by gravity for use in the house.
This is a very common water delivery system in Mexico.

Water for drinking and cooking is provided with 5 gallon bottles of purified water (which can be purchased locally). It is very inexpensive, usually around $2-3/bottle.

The house does have electricity, but it won’t accommodate lots of electrical items
that draw a lot of power simultaneously. There is no microwave and no 220V power.
We have two refrigerators, a 20” stove with oven (runs off propane of which there is plenty at the house) and plenty of dishes, glasses & flatware. We stock the house
with basic pots & pans and cooking utensils, but it’s not equipped as a gourmet
kitchen. We do have a Weber BBQ and some very basic patio furniture.

                                             Bathrooms
One of the showers is all concrete the other has tile.

The hot water for the showers is provided by a
“heating unit” above the actual showerhead.
While this does not generate steaming hot water it has 3 settings:
cold, warm & hot (sort of!) that is an adequate if not luxurious experience.

This is the view of the beach looking north from the property.

There is no US cell phone reception in Las Bocas, but there is Mexican cell service.
There is also US cell service in Navajoa (assuming your cell plan allows you to make/receive calls in Mexico). We do not have a TV or phone – there is no email!
We like it that way, but we realize that not everyone does. However, the beach is beautiful, the water is warm and the hammock is comfortable!

Las Bocas is a quiet place to get away. It’s not an easy place to bring your
work with you if you need communication capabilities.
The exception to the quiet is generally on Saturday night
when the small hotel across the road will have amplified music.
